Kathy Krueger

Kathy Krueger grew up and lived in Colorado Springs before marrying her husband, Dan Krueger. They spent almost 30 years moving and traveling around the USA and world, while he served in the US Army, before finally settling in Houston in 2010. She has a Bachelors Degree from the University of Memphis in public relations, with an emphasis in non-profit communications and fundraising, and she brings to our organization a wealth of knowledge and experience. While at the University of Memphis, she won a National PRSA Award for Ethics Writing. As owner of KKrueger Communications, she prepared communication plans based on broad strategic goals. Clients included municipal, small business, and non-profit organizations. She wrote grant proposals, feature stories, and newsletters, and created a communications plan and related materials for a successful $75 million bond proposal. Kathy developed and implemented a communications infrastructure for an organization serving 62,000 residents in a struggling middle class neighborhood. She designed and wrote newsletters mailed to 900 residents and community leaders, as well as planned and coordinated regular town hall meetings with creation of a communications plan for a collaborative, multifaceted crime reduction initiative. She also produced an award winning public relations and fundraising manual for small non-profit organizations.   As church Preschool Board Director, she recruited volunteer board members and provided oversight for not only the Director and 17 teachers, but also all aspects of their budget, salaries, tuition, fundraising and outreach. She is the proud mom of two grown and married children. She loves traveling with her family, reading, sewing, and is always up for a spirited political discussion.
