Mommies Itching to Get Out!

A Children’s House for the Soul is immensely blessed by the gifts of these two ladies: Lindsay O’Sullivan who is a certified child life specialist, Camp Dermadillo activities director extraordinaire, and owner of her own home daycare + Jessica Shannon who is a Chaplain, amazing encourager, and has a huge heart for helping children through difficult situations. We had a great time this weekend at our “Mommies Itching to Get Out” event that provided an opportunity for moms with babies affected by eczema to connect with one another. Most people don’t realize, but severe eczema (also known as atopic dermatitis) can have significant impact on affected families. One study compared the health-related quality of life for children with severe atopic dermatitis to other chronic diseases of childhood including diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, kidney disease and cystic fibrosis. Chronic skin disease was ranked second compared to cerebral palsy in regards to impairment of quality of life. We are thankful that A Children’s House for the Soul was able to provide an opportunity for these wonderful moms to meet one another and feel validated and truly understood. We think you rock!
