Do you know what eczema is? Many people think they do, but it can be a truly life-altering condition for many people who are affected. One study compared the health-related quality of life for children with chronic skin conditions to other chronic diseases of childhood including diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, kidney disease and cystic fibrosis. Chronic eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, was ranked second compared to cerebral palsy in regards to impairment of quality of life. So take some time as we wrap up Eczema Awareness Month to learn more at https://nationaleczema.org/. The National Eczema Association is a wonderful organization that provides support for those affected by eczema. They are hosting a one-day educational event on Saturday, December 3 at Houston Methodist. To get information or sign-up, go to https://nationaleczema.org/leaders-in-eczema/
